TREK Diagnostic Systems Announces Change in Ownership
Cleveland, OH—November 28, 2006 –TREK Diagnostic Systems announced
today that it has been acquired by Magellan Biosciences, Inc.
Under the terms of the acquisition, TREK Diagnostic Systems will function as a subsidiary
of Magellan Biosciences, and will continue business under TREK Diagnostic Systems,
Inc. The existing management team at TREK Diagnostic Systems will stay in place.
“Our acquisition by Magellan opens significant new opportunities for TREK Diagnostic
Systems, its employees, and customers – providing expanded resources, and increasing
our presence in the automated microbiology market,” Mike Burke, President of TREK
Diagnostic Systems stated. “We look forward to pursuing synergies among our
sister companies, notably the potential to bring world-class automation capabilities
to our customers.”
TREK represents the largest acquisition by Magellan Biosciences to date.
