TREK Diagnostic Systems Annouces Commercial Release of NEW para-JEM® Windows® Software Package
Cleveland, Ohio – November 1, 2005 – TREK Diagnostic Systems announced the commercial release of its para-JEM Windows Software today.
para-JEM Windows-based Software is the new, user-friendly package that offers efficient workflow, smooth processing,
rapid access to sample information, and improved data retrieval in the fight against Johne’s Disease.
Johne’s Disease, a highly contagious disease that causes approximately $1 billion in U.S. dairy industry losses
annually, is a worldwide, chronic illness. Also known as M. avium ssp. paratuberculosis, the disease can affect
all ruminants. Infected animals are destroyed to prevent the spread of the disease within the herd.
The new para-JEM Windows Software package is highly anticipated by veterinary diagnostic laboratories worldwide.
para-JEM Windows Software provides one touch access to critical information, information management, graph response
curves, and comprehensive bottle and sample data management. Some of the key features include seamless integration from DOS
computer systems, easy auto-accession of samples, dropdown lists for fast data entry, automatic data back-ups, automatic
report printing through the Task Scheduler, extensive reporting capabilities, and quick and simple recording of lab, smear,
molecular, and immunological results.
“Built on the proven and highly acclaimed VersaTREK Windows Software, we are delighted to bring para-JEM
Windows Software to our valued veterinary customers,” commented DeAna Paustian, Global Product Manager for the
para-JEM line. “Initial feedback from two veterinary sites utilizing the para-JEM Windows Software
has been outstanding. Easy, nice, streamlined and straight-forward are some of the words our customers have used
to describe the software. In addition, users are pleased at the amount of data that can be entered and have found
this to be extremely helpful in their daily activities. We are thrilled to be able to provide such a useful and helpful
product to our very busy veterinary customers.”
Used in conjunction with para-JEM reagents and the technology of the ESP® Culture System II,
para-JEM Windows Software provides automated diagnostic testing for the detection of M. avium ssp.
paratuberculosis. The para-JEM and ESP product lines are responsible for decreasing the time-to-detection
of M. avium ssp. paratuberculosis by as much as three weeks, leading to faster solutions and herd
management for the dairy industry.
The para-JEM product line offers better recovery, simple ease of use, improved sample management, and greater
value for the detection and management of Mycobacterium avium ssp. paratuberculosis.
