TREK Diagnostic Systems to Exhibit Products at 2005 ECCMID in Copenhagen, Denmark
Cleveland, Ohio – March 2, 2005 – TREK Diagnostic Systems will present its exciting
and innovative products, the VersaTREK® Automated Microbial Detection System along with
SWIN™ (Sensititre® for Windows) Software and the ARIS® 2X, at the 15th European
Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases in Copenhagen, Denmark,
April 2-5, 2005.
TREK has been assigned booth #231.
“TREK has a commitment to fully serving the larger international microbiology market,
with its excellent product portfolio of automated systems for ID/AST, blood culture
and mycobacterial testing,” commented Les Stutzman, Director of Global Marketing. “ECCMID
provides an ideal forum for our international customer/vendor interactions.”
The VersaTREK system features the latest technology in automated microbial detection systems and
allows laboratories to conduct four tests on a single platform: blood
culture, sterile body fluid culture, Mycobacteria detection and M. tuberculosis susceptibility
testing. Designed for the best value, versatility, and ease of use, VersaTREK offers unique
VorTrexingTM agitation, enhanced ergonomics, utilizes TREK’s “Any Bottle anywhere
Concept”, and features Microsoft® Windows-based software with one-touch access to all patient
information and reports. VersaTREK provides better recovery, simple ease of use,
improved patient care, and greater value, making it the best solution for the demanding
challenges of the diagnostic laboratory.
SWIN Software is the new, user-friendly, one-touch package
that streamlines laboratory workflow. SWIN features an intelligent and customizable
Expert System to permit appropriate
intervention for organisms with unusual resistance patterns. The new software package
also offers unique and easy export of data results to EXCEL or ACCESS to ensure
antibiogram compliance with current and future CLSI (formerly NCCLS) recommendations, and distinct, color-coded
identification parameters to allow immediate recalculation of results, reducing
labor and saving costs.
Offering improved automated plate inventory, reading, and report capabilities,
with no “reagent additions”, ARIS 2X provides consistent performance, requires little
maintenance and offers the fewest restrictions of any automated ID/AST system.
Founded in January 1999, TREK Diagnostic Systems is a global manufacturer and distributor
of automated systems and consumable products for the microbiology diagnostic laboratory.
Signature product lines include VersaTREK®, ESP®, Sensititre®, alamarBlue®,
para-JEM®, YeastOne®, onSite®, and TREK Lab Services. TREK is committed to delivering
the highest quality products and services to clinical, pharmaceutical, and veterinary
diagnostic laboratories worldwide.
