TREK Diagnostic Systems Presented Exciting New Products at 14th ECCMID
Cleveland, Ohio – June 18, 2004 – TREK Diagnostic Systems presented
its exciting, new products, VersaTREK® Automated Microbial Detection System and SWIN
(Sensititre® for Windows) Software, at the 14th European Congress of Clinical Microbiology
and Infectious Diseases in Prague, Czech Republic, May 1-4, 2004.
“ECCMID was attended by 5,500+ scientists from all over the world. We spoke to people
from Australia to Zambia,” said Paul Daga, V.P. International Markets. “TREK
had an ideal position on the second floor in main flow of attendee traffic. Showing the
ARIS 2X with SWIN and VersaTREK 528 generated a lot of booth traffic. We have already had
inquires from potential customers that came to the booth for quotations on SWIN, YeastOne
and VersaTREK.”
“In an environment that perfectly blended the old with the new, the picturesque
and cosmopolitan, the city of Prague served as the backdrop to a successful ECCMID conference
and the inaugural introduction of TREK’s newest generation of technologies – VersaTREK
and our new and improved ARIS 2X Sensititre system,” commented Les Stutzman, Director
of Global Marketing. “Location is said to be everything, but with TREK it was just
one part of our successes at ECCMID. Knowing that the products you have developed
will greatly enhance the effectiveness of the microbiologist and seeing a clear understanding
of what
these new systems can do for the microbiologist revelation of this fact on the faces
of our exhibition visitor helped confirm our commitment toward continuing to provide
more value
and in addressing our customer needs when it comes to blood cultures and AST/ID testing.
Interest was high and we at TREK look forward to closing on many of these opportunities
worldwide over the next several months.”
VersaTREK features the latest technology in
automated microbial detection systems and allows laboratories to conduct four tests
on a single platform: blood culture,
sterile body fluid culture, Mycobacteria detection and M. tuberculosis susceptibility
testing. Designed
for the best value, versatility, and ease of use, VersaTREK offers unique VorTrexing™ agitation,
enhanced ergonomics, utilizes TREK’s “Any Bottle anywhere Concept”, and
features Microsoft® Windows-based software with one-touch access to all patient information
and reports. VersaTREK provides better recovery, simple ease of use, improved patient
care, and greater value, making it the best solution for the demanding challenges
of the diagnostic
laboratory.
Sensititre ARIS 2X and SWIN are an automated ID/AST system developed for
the microbiology laboratory to combat growing antimicrobial resistance concerns.
Offering improved
automated plate inventory, reading, and report capabilities, with no “reagent additions”,
ARIS 2X provides consistent performance, requires little maintenance and offers the
fewest restrictions of any automated ID/AST system. SWIN Software is the new, user-friendly,
one-touch
package that streamlines laboratory workflow. SWIN features an intelligent and customizable
Expert System to permit appropriate intervention for organisms with unusual resistance
patterns. The new software package also offers unique and easy export of data results to
EXCEL or
ACCESS to ensure antibiogram compliance with current and future NCCLS recommendations,
and distinct, color-coded identification parameters to allow immediate recalculation of
results,
reducing labor and saving costs.
