TREK Diagnostic Systems Presented Exciting New Products at ASM 104th General
Meeting
Cleveland, Ohio – June 28, 2004 – TREK Diagnostic Systems presented
its exciting, new products, VersaTREK® Automated Microbial Detection System and SWIN™ (Sensititre® for
Windows) Software, at the 104th American Society for Microbiology General Meeting in New
Orleans, LA May 24-26, 2004.
“The synchronicity of good old-fashion New Orleans hospitality, coupled with the
ambiance of a city world renown for fantastic culinary delights (not necessarily best suited
for those of us who are too closely watching our waistlines), provided the perfect
backdrop
for TREK’s central focus on its high energy in successfully marketing its latest technologies
in form of VersaTREK and Sensititre ARIS® 2X with its SWIN Expert Software. The 104th
ASM meeting is proving to be one of the most successful for not only TREK, but also
has opened a new vista of opportunity for our customers,” commented Les Stutzman,
Director of Global Marketing.
VersaTREK features the latest technology in automated microbial
detection systems
and allows laboratories to conduct four tests on a single platform: blood culture,
sterile body fluid culture, Mycobacteria detection and M. tuberculosis susceptibility
testing. Designed
for the best value, versatility, and ease of use, VersaTREK offers unique VorTrexing™ agitation,
enhanced ergonomics, utilizes TREK’s “Any Bottle anywhere Concept”, and
features Microsoft® Windows-based software with one-touch access to all patient information
and reports. VersaTREK provides better recovery, simple ease of use, improved patient
care, and greater value, making it the best solution for the demanding challenges
of the diagnostic
laboratory.
SWIN Software is the new, user-friendly, one-touch software package that
streamlines laboratory workflow. Integrating SWIN with Sensititre microtitre plate
technology (the standard in MIC testing) and ARIS 2X proves an unbeatable combination in
advancing
AST/ID for clinical,
veterinary and pharmaceutical testing. SWIN features an intelligent and customizable
Expert System to permit appropriate intervention for organisms with unusual resistance
patterns. The new software package also offers unique and easy export of data results
to
EXCEL
or
ACCESS to ensure antibiogram compliance with current and future NCCLS recommendations,
and distinct, color-coded identification parameters to allow immediate recalculation
of results,
reducing labor and saving costs.
Founded in January 1999, TREK Diagnostic Systems is a global manufacturer and distributor
of automated systems and consumable products for the microbiology diagnostic laboratory.
