TREK Diagnostic Systems Presents Exciting New Products at 14th ECCMID
Cleveland, Ohio – April
9, 2004– TREK Diagnostic Systems will present its exciting, new products, VersaTREKTM
Automated Microbial Detection System and SWIN (Sensititre® for Windows) Software, at
the 14th European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases in
Prague, Czech Republic, May 1-4, 2004.
TREK has been assigned booth #231.
“The ECCMID affords TREK an excellent platform in which to launch our new products
into the European community – both VersaTREK and Sensititre,” commented Les
Stutzman, Director of Global Marketing. “We are eager to compete in these markets,
historically not accustomed to TREK’s
name in the same contexts as that of a global automated blood culture and ID/AST supplier. Our
challenge is to change that perspective. It begins with our exhibition at ECCMID under the
TREK banner!”
VersaTREK features the latest technology in automated microbial detection
systems and allows laboratories to conduct four tests on a single platform: blood
culture, sterile body fluid culture,
Mycobacteria
detection and M. tuberculosis susceptibility testing. Designed for the best value, versatility,
and ease of use, VersaTREK offers unique VorTrexing™ agitation, enhanced ergonomics, utilizes
TREK’s “Any
Bottle anywhere Concept”, and features Microsoft® Windows-based software with one-touch
access to all patient information and reports. VersaTREK provides better recovery, simple ease
of use, improved patient care, and greater value, making it the best solution for the demanding
challenges
of the diagnostic laboratory.
SWIN Software is the new, user-friendly, one-touch package that
streamlines laboratory workflow. SWIN features an intelligent and customizable Expert System
to permit appropriate intervention
for organisms with unusual resistance patterns. The new software package also offers unique
and easy
export of data results to EXCEL or ACCESS to ensure antibiogram compliance with current and
future NCCLS recommendations, and distinct, color-coded identification parameters to allow
immediate
recalculation of results, reducing labor and saving costs.
Founded in January 1999, TREK Diagnostic Systems is a global manufacturer and distributor
of automated systems and consumable products for the microbiology diagnostic laboratory.
Signature product lines include VersaTREK®, ESP®, Sensititre®, alamarBlue®,
para-JEM®, YeastOne®, onSite®, and TREK Lab Services. TREK is committed to delivering
the highest quality products and services to clinical, pharmaceutical, and veterinary diagnostic
laboratories worldwide.
